Destiny 2 relies on a unique hybrid peer-to-peer (P2P) networking model. This means your console isn't just talking to Bungie's servers, it's establishing direct network paths with every other Guardian in your fireteam. If your router blocks these connection streams, you will get hit with frustrating error codes like Cabbage, Beaver, or Marionberry. Opening your ports eliminates this bottleneck.
Step 1: Set Up an Xbox Static IP
- Navigate to Advanced Network Settings, copy your network strings, and change your IP Settings to Manual.
Step 2: Map Destiny 2 Network Ports
Log into your home router's admin dashboard, open the Port Forwarding settings screen, and add the following protocols targeting your Xbox IP:
TCP: 3074 UDP: 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 4500
